How to fix it

  1. Press the door firmly closed; the message should clear.
  2. Inspect the door gasket for obstructions or damage.
  3. Remove anything caught in the door (oven mitt, foil, bakeware).
  4. Open and close several times and watch that the plunger fully depresses.
  5. If the message stays even with the door closed, test the plunger switch for continuity when pressed; replace if faulty.
  6. Check the hinge for bend/sag; replace hinge if the door won't seat square.
