88 88 — Display Test / Power-Up State

All segments of the display are illuminated. Usually appears momentarily on power-up as a self-test. If it stays on, the control is stuck in a reset state — typically from a brief power blip or a loose connection.

How to fix it

  1. Wait 30 seconds — if it clears, ignore it.
  2. If it stays on, unplug the fridge for 5-10 minutes and plug back in.

  4. Check incoming voltage to rule out a brownout cause.
