Amana Oven F3E0 — oven temperature sensor open

Amana Oven · Error code F3E0

What F3E0 Means

The control has detected an open circuit in the oven temperature sensor (RTD probe). The control cannot read oven cavity temperature and shuts heating down.

Symptoms

  • Oven won't heat or shuts off mid-cycle
  • F3E0 displayed
  • Temperature display erratic
  • Bake or broil canceled

Common Causes

1
Failed oven temperature sensor (RTD)

Internal sensor element open — most common cause; should read ~1080-1100 ohms at room temp.

2
Disconnected or damaged sensor wiring

Harness pulled loose or burned at terminal.

3
Failed control board

Control input circuit damaged so it can't read the sensor.

How to Fix It

  1. Disconnect power at the breaker.
  2. Pull the oven forward and access the rear; locate the temperature sensor at the top rear of the oven cavity.
  3. Disconnect the sensor harness and measure resistance — should be ~1080 ohms at room temperature (~75F).
  4. If open or wildly off, replace the temperature sensor.
  5. If sensor is good, inspect harness for damage and check the connection at the control board.
  6. If wiring and sensor check out, replace the control board.
