Diagnose first: Sensor should read ~1080 ohms at room temperature. If correct, check the harness connection at the rear of the oven.

How to fix it

  1. Power off at the breaker.
  2. Access and unplug the oven temperature sensor.
  3. Measure resistance — anything below ~900 ohms at room temp indicates failure.
  4. Inspect harness for pinch points or burned insulation between sensor and control.
  5. Replace sensor (and harness if damaged); if both are good, replace control.
