E10 — Inverter Compressor / Compressor Drive Fault

Bosch's official US refrigeration error-code page documents only three entries: E02 (icemaker/ice-water communication), E03 (dispenser UI), and a generic 'E or D' catch-all. A bare 'E10' is not separately documented. How to fix it

  1. Unplug the unit and let it sit 5 minutes before any work on the inverter.
  2. Pull the rear lower access cover.
  3. Inspect the inverter board for swollen capacitors, burn marks, or a burned connector.
  4. With the unit unplugged, measure resistance between the three compressor pins (should be balanced, typically single-digit ohms) and from each pin to the compressor body (should be open).
  5. Replace the inverter if the compressor windings test good.
  6. If the compressor windings are open or shorted to ground, the sealed system needs a compressor replacement by a sealed-system tech.

Typical signs: E10 on display · Both compartments warming · Clicking from rear of unit · Inverter board hot to the touch

  • Failed inverter (compressor drive) board Most common; capacitors or output stage failed.
  • Open compressor winding Compressor motor failed internally.

  • Wiring/connector issue between inverter and compressor Loose or burned three-pin connector.
