E80 — Control board internal communication fault

The main control board has lost internal communication between its processor and peripheral chips, or between the main board and the user interface board. The dryer is effectively bricked until communication is restored.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the dryer for 10 minutes (hard reset).
  2. Open the console and reseat all ribbon cables between the UI board and main control board.
  3. Inspect both boards for burn marks, swollen caps, or corrosion.
  4. Plug back in and retest.
  5. If E80 persists, swap the UI board first (cheaper); if still failing, replace the main control board.
  6. Add a quality surge protector to prevent recurrence.
