LG Dryer drn — Drain tank full or drain blocked (condensing models)
LG Dryer · Error code drn
What drn Means
drn (also displayed as OE on some models) indicates the internal condensate water cannot drain. On ventless/condensing and heat-pump LG dryers, water collected during drying must either fill the removable tank or drain via the drain hose.
Symptoms
- drn or OE on display
- Drying water container indicator illuminated
- Clothes still damp at end of cycle
- Water pooling under or behind dryer
Common Causes
Tank needs manual emptying after each cycle.
Hose pinched behind the dryer or routed too high.
Lint/biofilm buildup blocks flow.
Dryer in cold space and condensate froze.
Pump impeller seized or motor open.
How to Fix It
- Pull out the condensate tank, empty it, and reinsert fully until it clicks.
- If using direct drain, straighten the drain hose and confirm it is below the height specified in the manual.
- Disconnect the drain hose and flush with warm water to clear lint/biofilm.
- Power-cycle the dryer by unplugging for 60 seconds.
- If error persists, access and test the drain pump for blockage and continuity; replace if seized or open.
- Run a Timed Dry to verify the tank fills and code does not return.
