HS — Humidity (moisture) sensor fault
HS indicates the moisture sensor strips inside the drum — used by Auto Dry / Sensor Dry cycles to detect when laundry is dry — are reading incorrectly. The dryer either over-dries or stops the sensor cycle early.

How to fix it
- Open the door and locate the two thin metal strips on the inside front bulkhead, just below the lint filter slot.
- Wipe the strips clean with a cotton ball dipped in white vinegar or rubbing alcohol — never use sandpaper, which removes the protective coating.
- Air-dry, then run a Sensor Dry cycle with a small damp load to confirm normal operation.
- If HS persists, unplug and inspect the sensor wiring harness from the strips back to the main board for breaks.
- Replace the moisture-sensor assembly if a wire is broken or a strip is damaged.
- Replace the main control board only as a last resort if a known-good sensor still triggers HS.
