How to fix it

  1. Unplug for 60 seconds and hold Start/Pause 5 seconds.
  2. On heat-pump models, open the lower access panel and clean the condenser/heat exchanger per the manual.
  3. Locate the affected thermistor and measure resistance against the service-manual table.
  4. Replace the thermistor if out of spec, and reseat the connector at the main PCB.
