What Error 24 Means

The robot was placed inside a no-go zone or virtual wall, or its current position is fully enclosed by virtual barriers, so it cannot start.

Symptoms

  • Voice prompt 'In restricted area, please move'
  • App shows Error 24
  • Robot won't start from current location
  • Map shows robot inside a red zone

Common Causes

Dock placed inside a no-go zone

Map edit accidentally fenced off the dock.

Manual placement inside a fenced area.

Virtual walls fully surround current room

No path exists for the robot to leave.

How to Fix It

  1. Open the Roborock app and view the map.
  2. Check no-go zones and virtual walls for any that enclose the robot or the dock.
  3. Delete or move offending zones.
  4. Manually move the robot out of any red zone if needed.
  5. Restart cleaning.
