What Error 8 Means

The robot is physically stuck — pinned under furniture, tangled in cords, or boxed in by obstacles it can't navigate around.

Symptoms

  • Voice prompt 'Please move robot to a new location and restart'
  • App shows Error 8
  • Robot stops mid-clean and won't resume
  • Robot found wedged under furniture

Common Causes

Robot wedged into a tight space slightly shorter than its height.

How to Fix It

  1. Pick the robot up from where it is stuck.
  2. Untangle any cords or fringe from the wheels and brushes.
  3. Set up virtual no-go zones around problem areas in the Roborock app.
  4. Use cable management to keep cords off the floor.
  5. Place the robot back on its dock and resume cleaning.
