How to fix it
- Unplug the dryer for 10 minutes and try again — a hard reset occasionally clears soft EEPROM errors.
- Reseat the ribbon cable between the user interface board and the main control board.
- Inspect both boards for burn marks, swollen capacitors, or surge damage.
- If ET returns and you've reset/reseated everything, replace the main control board.
- Install a surge protector on the dryer outlet to prevent recurrence.
