How to fix it
- Verify the dryer is on standard 60Hz (US) utility power — not a generator.
- Test the outlet wiring with a circuit analyzer — neutral, hot, ground must be correct.
- Tighten the neutral connection at the outlet and at the panel.
- Reset breaker and test.
- If outlet is verified good, the main control board needs replacement.
- An electrician should verify panel-side neutral if FE persists across outlets.
Why it happens
Typical signs: FE on display · Dryer immediately faults at power-up · Display behaves erratically · Occasional resets during cycle
- Improper outlet wiring / missing neutral Recently rewired outlet with neutral and ground swapped.
- Generator or inverter power source Non-utility power with unstable frequency.
- Failed main control board PCB frequency detection circuit failed.
- Loose neutral connection Neutral floating, board sees garbled AC waveform.
