6 (flashing) — Whirlpool Refrigerator Flashing 6 — 6th Sense Active
A flashing '6' on the display means 6th Sense technology is actively driving the fridge back to setpoint — usually after adding warm food or leaving a door open. This is not an error, just a status indicator.

How to fix it
- Close all doors fully and stop opening them for at least an hour.
- Wait — the 6 will turn off automatically once temperature is back at setpoint (can take 1-2 hours).
- If the 6 returns daily without obvious cause, inspect the door gaskets with the dollar-bill test.
- Clean dust off the condenser coils on the back/bottom of the unit.
- If the 6 never clears, follow the Flashing F procedure — there may be a real fault behind it.
