F6 E1 — UI / Main Control Communication Fault

The main control board and the user interface (dispenser/display) cannot talk to each other. Inputs may stop responding and the display flashes 'F'.

How to fix it

  1. Power down at the breaker (or unplug) for at least one minute.
  2. Restore power and watch for one minute. If F6 E1 returns, continue.
  3. Pull the dispenser/UI assembly out and reseat every ribbon cable and connector.
  4. Inspect the harness running through the door hinge for chafe or breaks.
  5. If wiring is good, swap the UI control board first (usually cheaper).
  6. Replace the main control board if a new UI does not resolve the fault.

  • Loose UI ribbon/harness Cable between the dispenser UI and main control unseated.
