Whirlpool Washer F0E3 — Load Too Heavy / Basket Blocked
Whirlpool Washer · Error code F0E3
What F0E3 Means
The control senses the basket isn't turning the way it should because the load weight exceeds capacity or something is mechanically blocking rotation.
Symptoms
- Washer won't agitate or spin
- F0 E3 shortly after Start
- Drum feels stuck when turned by hand
- Heavy or overstuffed load
Common Causes
Too much laundry for the basket to lift and tumble.
Underwire bra, sock, or coin trapped in the outer tub blocking the basket.
Rare but serious — outer tub bearing failure.
Front-load belt slipped off the pulley.
How to Fix It
- Remove half the laundry and restart.
- If still tripping, unplug and try to spin the drum by hand — should turn freely with maybe a slight drag.
- If the drum is hard to turn, pull the front boot off (front-load) and look between drum and outer tub for trapped objects.
- If something rattles when you spin the drum, fish out the object with a magnet or grabber.
- If the drum grinds or won't turn, suspect bearing failure — major repair.
