F0E5 — Off-Balance Load

The washer detected the load is too unbalanced to spin safely. It will try to redistribute and may add water; if it can't balance, it stops with this code.

How to fix it

  1. Open the lid/door, redistribute laundry evenly around the drum, and restart.
  2. If washing a single bulky item, add a couple of towels for ballast.
  3. Check that the washer is level with a bubble level on top — adjust the feet.
  4. If a load that used to spin fine now keeps tripping F0E5, inspect front-load shocks/struts and top-load suspension rods. Replace as a set.

Why it happens

Typical signs: Load is on one side of the drum · Washer wobbles or walks during spin · F0 E5 partway through final spin · Long delays during spin ramp-up

  • Bulky single item A comforter, rug, or jeans bunched up on one side.
  • Tiny load on the spider Just one or two items can't balance themselves.
  • Washer not level Floor or feet adjustment off — drum can't sense balance correctly.
  • Worn shock absorbers / springs Front-load tub flopping around amplifies imbalance.
