F4E1 — Heater Sensor Fault (Steam/Heated Models)

On models with a water heater (steam-capable front-loaders), the heater temperature sensor (thermistor) is reading out of range — open or shorted.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug washer.
  2. Access the heater (bottom of tub on most front-loaders).
  3. Reseat the thermistor connector.
  4. Measure thermistor resistance at room temp (typical ~50 kΩ at 25°C — check service sheet).
  5. Replace the heater/thermistor assembly if out of range.
  6. Replace the ACU only if a known-good sensor still reads as faulted.
