How to fix it

  1. Enter service diagnostics (model-specific button combo) to read sensor temps.
  2. Compare displayed sensor values to a thermometer in the cabinet.
  3. Unplug and measure suspect thermistor resistance — should be ~16k ohms at 32°F (10k NTC type per model).
  4. Replace any thermistor reading open, shorted, or far from spec.
  5. If all sensors check good, replace the main control board.
