How to fix it

  1. Unplug the refrigerator before servicing the compressor area.
  2. Pull the refrigerator out and remove the rear access panel.
  3. Inspect the inverter board mounted to the compressor for burn marks or swollen components.
  4. Verify the 3-wire harness from inverter to compressor is fully seated.
  5. Measure compressor winding resistance per service sheet (typically balanced low ohms).
  6. Replace the inverter board first; if compressor windings are bad, the compressor itself needs replacement (sealed-system work — call a tech).
  7. Verify line voltage is 108-132V at the outlet.
