What dF / dE Means

Washer tried to lock the door at the start of a cycle but didn't see the locked confirmation signal. Similar to E43 but at cycle start rather than mid-cycle.

Symptoms

  • dF or dE flashes when starting a cycle
  • Cycle won't begin
  • Door appears closed

Lock won't actuate or signal back to the board.

How to Fix It

  1. Open the door, clear obstructions, firmly re-close.
  2. Try starting a different cycle.
  3. Unplug 60 seconds and retry.
  4. Inspect the door strike for wear.
  5. If the lock won't actuate, replace the door lock assembly.
  6. If lock is good, suspect the main control board.
