E57 — High Current on Inverter

The motor inverter detected excessive current draw. Either the motor is mechanically bound, a winding is shorted, or the inverter itself is failing.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the washer.
  2. Spin the empty tub by hand — should rotate freely with mild resistance.
  3. If rough/grinding, the bearing is failed (often economic write-off on cheaper units).
  4. Shine a light between basket and tub; remove any foreign object.
  5. Measure motor windings — replace motor if shorted.
  6. If mechanics and motor are good, replace the inverter board.
