How to fix it

  1. Unplug the washer and pull it out from the wall.
  2. Inspect under and behind for the leak source — boot, pump, hoses.
  3. Tighten hose clamps; replace any wet hose or seal.
  4. Inspect the door boot carefully (front-loaders) — flex it to find tears.
  5. Dry the base pan thoroughly and let the float reset.
  6. If FL returns with no visible water, replace the flood sensor.
  7. Do NOT keep running with an active leak — risk of major water damage.
