What AF Means

The dryer has detected restricted exhaust airflow during the cycle. Similar to F30 but typically displayed as an informational alert rather than a hard fault.

How to Fix It

  1. Clean the lint screen; wash with warm soapy water if it shows softener residue.
  2. Pull the dryer out and inspect the transition duct for kinks or crushing.
  3. Disconnect the duct and run the dryer briefly on Air Fluff to confirm strong airflow from the dryer outlet.
  4. Brush out the full vent duct from inside to outside with a vent cleaning kit.
  5. Clean or replace the exterior vent hood/flapper.
  6. If using long flex hose, replace with rigid or semi-rigid metal duct.
