On steam-capable Maytag dryers, the control did not detect the dispenser/cartridge or sees the steam water line not primed. Cycle will run but steam features may be disabled.

How to fix it
- Confirm the cold water supply valve to the dryer is fully open.
- Disconnect the inlet hose and clean the inlet screen at the valve.
- Run a steam cycle and listen for the inlet valve clicking.
- If no flow, measure the valve solenoid winding; replace the valve if open or stuck.
- Run the cycle once or twice to purge air from the steam line.
- If still failing, replace the steam control assembly.
