What F8E1 Means
On steam dryers, the control did not detect water at the steam valve within the expected time. Steam feature is disabled but normal drying continues.

Common Causes
Most common — house valve was never opened or got closed.
Debris in inlet valve filter.
Hose pinched behind the dryer.
Solenoid stuck closed.
Below ~20 psi spec.
How to Fix It
- Fully open the cold water supply valve feeding the dryer.
- Disconnect the inlet hose and clean the screen filter at the dryer's inlet valve.
- Straighten any kinks in the supply hose.
- Run a steam cycle and listen/feel for the inlet valve activating.
- If no water flows with the valve commanded on, replace the water inlet valve.
- If household pressure is the issue, address the plumbing supply.
