LG Refrigerator Er gF — Water flow sensor / low water pressure
LG Refrigerator · Error code Er gF
What Er gF Means
The flow sensor in the water dispense circuit didn't detect adequate flow during a dispense — usually a closed/kinked supply line, clogged filter, or low household water pressure.
Symptoms
- Er gF on display
- Dispenser produces little or no water
- Ice maker may stop producing ice
- Water filter status normal but no flow
Common Causes
Saddle valve or shutoff at the wall not fully open.
Common behind the refrigerator after a recent move.
Filter past 6 months severely restricts flow.
LG requires 20–120 psi at the inlet.
Solenoid coil weak or sensor circuit failed.
How to Fix It
- Confirm the water supply valve is fully open.
- Pull the unit out and check the water line behind it for kinks.
- Replace the water filter if it's older than 6 months.
- Test household pressure at a nearby faucet (need 20+ psi).
- Disconnect the supply at the inlet valve and flush a cup into a bucket — verify flow.
- If flow is good to the valve but dispenser still fails, replace the inlet valve assembly (which includes the flow sensor on most LG models).
